Fr. Bob Buenconsejo, SJ spent his college years at a Jesuit university in Manila, involved in the Ateneo Student Catholic Action and the Jesuit Volunteers Program. He also did pastoral work in the Basic Ecclesial Community Office and teaching Philosophy at Ateneo de Naga University. A year later he entered the Jesuit novitiate.

He completed his M.A. in Theology at Ateneo de Manila, and M.A. in Pastoral Counseling at Loyola University Chicago. He has served as Director of Loyola Schools Campus Ministry Office at Ateneo de Manila, while teaching Theology in the College.  He continues to do formation work as Director of Spiritual and Psychological Formation at San Jose Seminary. He worked at the Center for Ignatian Spirituality (C.I.S.) as Associate Director and Director of Formation, where he lectured on Spiritual Direction and the psychological dynamics of the Spiritual Exercises. He teaches Spirituality part-time at Loyola School of Theology. He is also the National Ecclesiastical Assistant of the Christian Life Community of the Philippines.
