This retreat will be given in the form of the First Spiritual Exercises (FSE). In this retreat, retreatants move through love and sin to mercy and wonder. As we track through the darker side of our humanity, in powerlessness and vulnerability, we are brought very close to God. When we sit in darkness, God becomes our companion there or leads us into the full light. Throughout this retreat we are gently invited towards the light of greater freedom in and for God. During each online session, you will be guided through a prayer exercise, have time to journal and share in group spiritual conversation. You will continue further prayer exercises in your own time.

Retreat Directors: Fr Albert Tan, S.J. is a Jesuit who studied in the Philippines and Canada en-route to his ordination as a priest in 2005. He was assigned to St. Francis Xavier Church, Petaling Jaya, initially as Assistant Parish Priest and later as Parish Priest until 2015. Subsequently, he left for Australia to pursue a Masters degree in Spiritual Direction. After that, in 2018, Fr Albert was assigned to the Philippines as Socius to the Novice Master of the Malaysia-Singapore Region, Formator of the Sacred Heart Novitiate, and Spiritual Director of the Sacred Heart Retreat House. He returned to Malaysia in November 2021 to take up his new appointment as Director of MARANATHA House of Prayer. Fr Albert has been involved in retreat-giving on a part-time basis since 2006. However, from 2019 to 2021, he assumed full-time ministry and found the retreat-giving and spiritual direction very life-giving and humbling. As such, Fr Albert is looking forward to his assignment in MARANATHA House of Prayer.
Lillian Koh has been trained in the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius and has a Masters in Christian studies. Lillian is a medical practitioner. She gives retreats and serves as a spiritual director and counsellor at her parish church.
